This only happens for the internet. The tv channels are fine.

I can't remember if it was raining, but I know recently I've been having more disconnects then reconnnects and having to reset my router. I saw on another website other subscribers are having similar issues with Comcast and some said that it may require the cable modem to have a software upgrade. I called Comcast and they said no, I'd have to get it from the manufacturer. Typical, no it's not me, it's you games.

I get the impression Comcast doesn't know and doesn't want to know. The service rep on the phone once told me that there might be something wrong with the new router and it might need to be replaced. The repairman who came to the house said it was a brand new router and nothing was wrong with it. Plus, when he came the internet service was working fine again.

Comcast has the upper hand here as Verizon doesn't have internet service to this part of my neighborhood yet.

So Jim what do you think about the software upgrade? And do you think that we, as Comcast customers, should have to request and pay for it?

It's tolerable most of the time but it's repeated drops that annoy me. I think the cost of service should be reduced comparative to DSL. I'm going to try getting a new modem. The one I have is fairly old.

I used to have problems with comcast until I switched to their comcast business. Now it seems more reliable. Faster speeds and less drops off the internet. Their netgear modems they were using on the residential were giving people alot of problems.

I pay $59.95 a month. On residential I paid a little more than that because I had to keep basic TV to be a comcast customer to be able to get the internet cheap. I do not have TV through comcast because it got to be so high.

I don't know how this is having an effect but... My son noticed that Verizon seems to have finished with their neighborhood upgrades or repairs or whatever they were doing. Last few times that it rained, we did NOT lose Comcast. My son thinks some of our problems might have been caused by all the digging that Verizon was doing in our neighborhood. I hope he is right, and that the problems are solved now.

Knock on wood, but I haven't had any internet problems with Comcast for a long time. In fact, a very long time. The service has been better in the last year than at any time before. I have a ton of issues with Comcast, but this hasn't been one of them, and my modem is my original cable modem that is about 10 years old now, if not more.
