Christmas in Virginia
Every Christmas, my family and I have a great dinner and ride out to The Breaks Interstate Park to see the lights, have a nice nature drive and get out of the house for a bit. I've decided this year I would like to go some place new, even if it requires an overnight stay.
If anyone has any sites to share or knows of a family friendly Christmas outing near the Richlands area, please let me know

Richlands? That's western Virginia? I've lived in VA my whole life and still get confused as to locations... lol
Have you thought about going to Richmond and seeing the lights on the Tacky Light Tour? We did that a couple years ago and it's pretty neat.

GoRoyals, that looks like a pretty amusing tour, lol. 2,386 inflatables?? I would say that qualifies as tacky! Thanks for putting that link up - it's cool that it lists all states at the bottom.

no worries, I've never been good with locations, directions, the difference between left and right
Thanks for the link. I didn't realize how outgoing people were with their homes. If we did this it would be good to see the kids reactions.

OMG! That Tacky Lights Tour looks awesome! I bet that it is fun for the whole family. The video is so cool~ thanks for that link.
I would rather spend Christmas at home, so can't give you any place to go for dinner~ sorry.

^I'm spending Christmas at home but there are always Christmas related events happening on days other than Christmas Eve/Christmas Day =)
Anyway, the more I research the more I find, so thanks everyone for giving me a jump off point.

I can't believe how many people go all out in this area. There are several homes we take the kids to every year because they let you get out and walk through their yards and look at all the lights. I'd hate to pay their electric bills!

The tacky light tour sounds right up my folks alley! I want to take them. How long does it take to go through it all? Every year we go and look at lights, but they like those inflatables.

Oh my! I haven't seen any of these around here yet, but when I went to college, we had an alley that everyone would drive down to see the lights. I missed them all this year. :(
